How to Keep Ads Current on Craigslist

Keep Current your Ads on Craigslist Classified 


Ads you post to Craigslist expire a certain amount of time after you post them. The specific number of days varies between cities and according to what type of ad you post, but is always between 7 and 45 days after posting. Delete and re-post your ad to keep it current and near the top of your search results to increase the chances of Craigslist visitors seeing it and clicking on it.


Step 1 : Open the email Craigslist sent you when you published the ad and click the link within it. Alternatively, if you posted the ad while logged in to your Craigslist account, click the "My Account" link in the top, left corner of the main Craigslist page and enter your email and password. Click "Sign In" and scroll down to your list of ads until your find the one in question, and click its name.

Step 2: Highlight the ad content -- its title and description -- and save any images you used to use in your new ad. Click the "Delete" button the top of your post to delete it from the site.


Step 3: Return to the main Craigslist page. Click "Post to Classifieds" select the same category as your old ad and paste in your ad's title, location, price and description. Upload the same photos you used in your old ad. Click "Continue" to preview your new ad, then "Continue" once again to send a verification email.


Step 4: Log into your email account and open the email Craigslist sends you pertaining to your new ad. Click the link within it, then click the "Publish" button at the top of the ad.
